In response of a friend's fb post:

Dear Chris, thank you very much for your views. I really appreciate this opportunity to discuss with you this difficult issue relating asylum seekers in Hong Kong. Firstly, I would like to clarify that I did not propose withdrawal from the Convention Against Torture. I fully appreciate the effect of the judgment of the Court of Final Appeal in Ubamaka, other relevant judgments and the constitutional obligations of Hong Kong Government . Secondly, I am only targeting my attack on non genuine asylum seekers. I am sure that you agree with me that the existing mechanism operated by the Government is defective and are being abused. We need to find a way to stop these abuses. We need to pressurize the Government to find a solution to the existing defective mechanism. Thirdly, I welcome your views on how to resolve this difficult problem facing Hong Kong. I am more welcome to amend my proposal to the Government if you are able to enlighten me on how to deal with this issue. Lastly, I really treasure this chance to discuss with you on current affairs. I look forward to having more constructive discussions with you in the future for the betterment of Hong Kong.
